Casey + Ed
An unusually long lunch.
On 17 November 1995, Casey and his mates were in Adelaide to record their first EP. After a party, they stopped at Macca’s on Anzac Highway. Jono left his uneaten Quarter Pounder with Ed and asked him to keep it until next time.
Ed kept it. Family members helped look after it over the years, and an unfinished lunch became a running joke between mates.
Twenty years later, that joke became a Facebook page: “Can This 20-Year-Old Burger Get More Likes Than Kanye West?” That was what kicked off the public story in 2015. The Project was one of the major early interviews. More television, international headlines and a Reddit AMA followed.
The page’s name has aged with the burger. These days it says 30-year-old. The burger is still here. So are Casey and Ed.
